Computational Chemistry and Visualization
In collaboration with Delta HPC (Cambridge, MA), ProXyChem provides the following services:
- In silico (virtual) screening to identify high probability hits (a low cost filter to experimental screening of millions of compounds)
- Molecular visualization in a fully immersive virtual-reality environment
Delta HPC’s Supercomputer Facility utilizes a cross-platform Compaq Alpha GS-320, SGI Onyx, and SGI Origin supercomputers. These supercomputers are secured, dedicated and on a private network. The Visualization Facility includes the first commercial digital CAVE, a 10-foot immersive virtual reality cube for visualization of molecular models and structures and other computational data. It is interactive, with full-scale scene viewing in a startling visual stereo clarity. Driven by their SGI Onyx supercomputer, the CAVE provides four display surfaces of bright digital images, full digital stereo audio, and complete 3D operator tracking and image adaptation for unprecedented insight of complex data unattainable with single-screen displays.
